Natahala
National Forest The Tellico ORV Area is a fee access area. The cost is $5.00 per day/vehicle payable at the Forest Service entrance station. The station is operated on the honor system, so you will need to have correct change (they do accept checks). The money collected here is used to keep the trails open for all of us. Southern Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA) maintains the Tellico ORV trail system and contributes thousands of dollars and man-hours to this endeavor each year. Please do not litter or drive off the established trails. Check the Tellico 4x4 website for comprehensive Tellico maps, information, and directions. And join us at Southern 4WD Association's DIXIE RUN to fully experience the area with fellow four-wheelers!
Troy, North Carolina The off-highway vehicle trail system in the Uwharrie offers a variety of topography and scenery. All trails are designated for all off-highway vehicles, except for a small portion of the Dickey Bell Trail located west of SR 6584 which is suitable only for use by ATVs or motorcycles. Stay on the trail system to help prevent soil erosion and creek sedimentation, which occur as a result of illegal trail use. Helmets are recommended but not required on the OHV trail system . The trail system is subject to a seasonal closure during the winter months in order to prevent unacceptable soil erosion and stream sedimentation. NEW
